Chairs’/Officers’ Reports

Secretary – Michael

• Action Item Transfer logins and etc over to Tim and D McPhail. Got David McP done. Tim has most of it. Dodge is still working on completing hand off
• Action Item from ExCo 24 12 02: Michael develop USA Club Competitions writeup concept
  • Frequently players and fans have no idea what is going on outside their local competition. Propose posting interesting consolidated write ups of NCS comps from across the USA to our website and social media. Tying competitions together and bringing it to the forefront can increase interest in what we do and what is happening across the US. 
  • Proof of Concept for MD2 reviewed and approved by ExCo
  • Author is Kat Roche. Kat is a high level USA Rugby ref. Has officiated at Olympics, World cup, MLR, etc. She does similar write ups already for Texas. 
  • We are looking at a test run for the rest of the 15s season. If successful, we will consider for 7s and Fall. 
  • The Test run is one 15s article per NCS division (MD1, WD1, MD2, WD2, MD3) for Jan, Feb, March, April, and May.
  • Jeremy will track interaction on social media. Will review at the end of the test run and present results to SCC.

• Dates for Super regionals and Nationals
  • Pacific is April 25/26/27

• Kick Off Meeting
  • First meeting of the newly organized committee will be held Wednesday, Jan-22nd.
• Fifteens National Championship
  • Call scheduled for Friday, Jan-17th to go over the latest Red Line between Andrew King and Indy Leadership. 
  • David Dodge and Tim Cowley will be on this call to go over the currently proposed budget and provide feedback on the event costs and other related items.
  • Discuss backup site alternatives.
• Qualifying Match Requests
  • Pending review of Google Form – Qualifying Match.
  • Received request to approve  two (2x) Qualifying Match approvals for Omaha Goats Women (D2 Mid-America).
  • Upon approval of the form, it will be sent to Sean Cox et al for completion.
• Eligibility Review
  • Email received from Florida GU regarding Miami Tridents (MD1) regarding any remaining Eligibility items that are outstanding in order to advance to Gulf Coast Super Regional.
  • McPhail to consult with Tam and Andrew.
• Gulf Coast Super Regional 
  • Weekend of May 3-4th
  • To be hosted by True South GU & NOLA RFC in New Orleans, LA. 
  • Waiting on a signed contract for one of two proposed sites.

7’s Comp – David Fee

• Selected Madison as National Site Host again
  • Reviewed 3 bids: Madison, Wichita, Indianapolis
• Working through eligibility with Tam’s group
• Revising TOR’s

Eligibility – Tam

• Working through 7s eligibility updates with 7s committee
• Found a glitch in RX where GU admins can’t see outside player history for transfers into their union. 
• Until RX works through this here are some temporary solutions

• Working on scheduling 2025 disciplinary training locations and dates
• Finalizing the training material for USA Rugby and intend to present to World Rugby to make it a part of their curriculum.
• Lastly, WR has invited me to attend their Educator course to complete my WR training and Education Certification.

• This is the updated document that needs to be approved. 
• Draft  Senior Club Council Nomination Process- January 2025

• Community agreement negotiation in upcoming weeks
  • Asking to get a quote on adding an insurance rider for unregistered players (i.e. first time at practice, etc.)
  • Insurance through USI
• USA Rugby 50th Anniversary Celebration
  • Lynton Mare <lmare@usa.rugby>: Every month this year we will be posting special moments of all rugby history in the US over the last 50 years and so we would love to celebrate Senior Club as part of the initiative.
  • Would you be able to share a couple of key standout moments / accomplishments that you would like Senior Club to be celebrated and recognized for?
• Upcoming position coming available for Chair in May 
  • KJ putting together a calendar of position renewal for the chairs. Working on TOR updates from chairs
  • Request to add terms to website
