Vice Chair – David C

  • A few GUs have begun 2026-2027 matches. Please help out the Eligibility and Competition Committees and get your teams on the right foot with registrations, RX rosters, registered/accredited coaches, and match reporting. The Senior Club Eligibility Report (Administration / Reports / Registration Reports) can be quite helpful for GU Admins, as well as the Club Compliance Status Report. Scanning through these reports doesn’t take long, using Excel.
  • I’ll be looking at some historical data prior to the next ExCo and SCC meetings (enrollment trends).

USAR Referee and Laws Committee (RLC) – David Chapman

  • Rick Humm and I attend the Adhoc RLC meetings (the last ones were held on August 24 and September 8) chaired by Tom Cusack (USAR Board Chair). In these sessions, there has been discussion about referee coaching consistency, travel expenses and assignments, retention of former high level refs to assist, and cost of personnel to make changes. There is a movement to require some level of recertification (for BOTH referees and club coaches) so that folks don’t ride on a “forever” license. In terms of the RLC, a plan will be developed on its further operations and spearheaded by the RLC Chair to present to the Ad Hoc group and, subsequently, the USAR board. I have volunteered to assist with the grassroots part (particularly the process of getting refs to progress through the system).
  • Meeting to be scheduled with David McPhail and Jamie McGregor on event expenses.
  • The next regular RLC meeting is scheduled for Sep 21.
